U.S. Military Commanders Accused of Linking Iran Conflict to “God’s Plan” and “Armageddon,” Troops File Over 110 Complaints
In a startling revelation, U.S. commanders across more than 30 military bases have reportedly told troops that the ongoing conflict with Iran is part of “God’s plan,” framing it as a harbinger of “Armageddon.”
According to the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF), a non-profit civil rights watchdog, it has received more than 110 complaints describing the war as “biblically-sanctioned” and a sign of the Christian “End Times.” The complaints span over 40 units at 30 military sites, highlighting widespread concern among service members.
A non-commissioned officer (NCO) reported to MRFF that his combat-unit commander told troops that former President Donald Trump was “anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth.”
The commander allegedly urged them to convey that the conflict was “all part of God’s divine plan,” referencing multiple passages from the Book of Revelation predicting Armageddon and the imminent return of Jesus Christ.
The NCO, who remains anonymous, said they were submitting the complaint on behalf of 15 other troops, including 11 Christians, one Muslim, and one Jew. The service members are currently stationed outside the Iran theater but remain on “ready-support” status, meaning they could be deployed at any time.
Veteran journalist Jonathan Larsen first reported the scope of the complaints on his Substack, bringing renewed attention to concerns over religious messaging within military ranks during a time of heightened conflict.
The MRFF’s findings raise serious questions about the separation of religious beliefs and military orders, with troops expressing alarm at being asked to interpret combat operations as divinely sanctioned.
