Aba North Executive Chairman Reaffirms Commitment to Human Rights under Governor Otti’s Administration
In a powerful message marking International Human Rights Day 2025, the Executive Chairman of Aba North Local Government Area, Hon. Timothy Kalu Iheke, has reiterated the critical importance of human rights as “our everyday essentials,” emphasizing the alignment of his administration with the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Governor Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR.
Speaking on the occasion, Hon. Iheke highlighted that human rights are the foundation of a just and prosperous society, stating that “the protection and promotion of human dignity is not a privilege, it is the foundation upon which a just and prosperous society is built.”
He further stressed that human rights empower individuals, safeguard freedoms, and ensure that every citizen can live, work, and thrive with dignity.
The Chairman praised Governor Otti’s administration for its commitment to turning human rights principles into practical realities. He cited the State Government’s initiatives on healthcare, education, workers’ welfare, and youth empowerment, noting that these actions reflect the administration’s dedication to ensuring that human rights are experienced daily by all citizens.
“Here in Aba North, our administration is working tirelessly to translate these commitments into tangible benefits for our people,” Hon. Iheke stated.
He outlined ongoing efforts, including community empowerment programs, infrastructural development, and inclusive policies, all aimed at guaranteeing that every resident enjoys dignity, equality, and opportunity.
Hon. Iheke urged all residents of Aba North to embrace the values of human rights, not just on this day, but as a guiding principle in their daily lives. He emphasized that, under Governor Otti’s leadership, human rights are not mere ideals, they are a way of governance that impacts the lives of every Abian.
Concluding his address, Hon. Iheke remarked: “Human rights are not merely ideals; they are our everyday essentials. Let us protect them, live by them, and ensure that every Abian enjoys the life they deserve under the dynamic leadership of Governor Alex Chioma Otti.”
