ABIA PARTNERS WITH WORLD-CLASS HOSPITALS IN SWEDEN AND GLOBAL HEALTH INSTITUTIONS FOR SERIES OF MEDICAL OUTREACHES

In a remarkable step toward enhancing healthcare delivery and improving the wellbeing of Abians, the Abia State Government has announced a strategic collaboration with world-class hospitals in Sweden and other renowned global health institutions for a series of comprehensive medical outreach programmes across the state.

 

This announcement was made by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, on Monday at the Government House, Umuahia, while briefing the press on the outcome of this week’s State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Alex Otti.

 

According to the Commissioner, “the state government is collaborating with world-class hospitals in Sweden and other global health institutions for a number of medical outreach programmes in the state.”

 

Highlighting the details of the scheduled outreach programmes, Prince Kanu explained that, “the first in the series of medical outreaches is the one involving the Abia Ministry of Health and ProHealth International. This medical outreach will commence on the 16th of this month and end on the 22nd of the month.”

 

He further revealed that, “the second outreach involves Abia Diaspora Medical Outreach Group. This will hold between the 12th and 19th of December 2025. The third one is the AMPA Abia Medical Outreach and this will hold in April 2026.”

 

Continuing, the Information Commissioner noted that, “the last but not the least is the one involving Abia State Ministry of Health and the Swedish Global Health Outreach. This will hold in May 2026.”

 

These collaborative medical outreach programmes are expected to provide free and quality healthcare services to residents across various communities in Abia State, demonstrating Governor Alex Otti’s administration’s commitment to accessible, quality, and people-centered healthc are for all.
