EID-UL-MAWLID: Aba North Mayor, Hon. Timothy Iheke Felicitates Muslims, Calls for Peace and Unity
The Mayor of Aba North Local Government Area, Hon. Timothy Kalu Iheke, has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful in Aba North and across Abia State as he joins Muslims around the world in celebrating Eid-ul-Mawlid.
Hon. Iheke described the occasion, which commemorates the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, as a significant moment for reflection on the enduring values of peace, love, compassion, humility, tolerance and selfless service to humanity.
The Mayor urged Muslims to allow the teachings and exemplary life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad to continue to guide their relationships with others and inspire greater commitment to peaceful coexistence and the advancement of society.
He also called on Muslim faithful to use the Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration to offer prayers for sustained peace, unity and progress in Aba North, Abia State and Nigeria at large.
According to him, Aba North has continued to thrive as a home to people of different faiths, ethnic backgrounds and cultures, making unity, mutual respect and religious tolerance indispensable to the continued growth and development of the area.
Hon. Iheke stressed that the progress of Aba North would be better achieved when residents, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences, embrace the spirit of brotherhood and work collectively towards building a peaceful and prosperous society.
The Mayor further reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, assuring the Muslim community and all residents of Aba North that his leadership would continue to promote the welfare and interests of every citizen and residents
He said his administration remains determined to work with all segments of society to build an Aba North where everyone enjoys a sense of belonging and has an opportunity to contribute to development.
As Muslims celebrate Eid-ul-Mawlid, Hon. Iheke prayed that the blessings and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad would inspire greater love, peace and unity among the people.
The Mayor wished all Muslim faithful in Aba North and Abia State a peaceful, joyous and spiritually fulfilling Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration.
