Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has once again demonstrated her commitment to promoting food security by harvesting fresh vegetables from her home garden at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The harvest, carried out during a routine visit to the garden on Monday, underscores the First Lady’s continued advocacy for home gardening as a practical solution to improving food availability, encouraging healthy living, and reducing household food costs across the country.
The vegetable garden, established about two years ago under the Every Home A Garden initiative, has become a symbol of the campaign’s objective to inspire families to cultivate fruits and vegetables within their homes, regardless of available space.
By personally participating in the harvest, Senator Tinubu reinforced her message that home gardening is not only achievable but also an effective way to strengthen household nutrition and contribute to national food security.
According to the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), which shared the development on its X account on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, the First Lady also distributed part of the freshly harvested vegetables to members of staff at the Presidential Villa, reflecting the initiative’s spirit of sharing and encouraging healthy eating.
