Mr P Announces Change of Birthday Celebration Date, Urges Fans to Take Note
Popular Nigerian music star Peter Okoye, widely known as Mr P and one half of the defunct music duo P-Square, has announced a personal decision to officially change the date he celebrates his birthday.
The singer made this known in a message addressed to his family, friends, and fans, stating that he will no longer mark his birthday on November 18, a date he shares with his twin brother Paul Okoye.
According to Mr P, the new date for his birthday celebration will now be November 30.
“I am officially changing my birthday date,” he said.
In a more detailed statement, the music star wrote:
“Dear Family, Friends, and Fans,
“I’m making it official. November 18th is no longer my birthday celebration date. Please note that I will not be accepting any messages or gifts on that day.
“My birthday will now be celebrated on November 30th. This is a personal decision, and I truly appreciate your understanding.
Thank you all.”
Mr P and his twin brother, Paul Okoye, were both born on November 18, 1981.
However, the duo have experienced a prolonged and widely publicized rift over the years, leading to tensions between the siblings and their eventual split as a music group.
While Mr P did not give specific reasons for the change, the announcement has sparked reactions among fans, many of whom see it as another reflection of the ongoing distance between the once inseparable brothers.
As of the time of this report, Paul Okoye has not publicly responded to the development.
