“The Family Was God’s First Institution Before Government, Before Business and Before Politics” — Dr. Chima Anyaso Says, Champions Family Values, Integrity and Service at Rehoboth Experience 19th Anniversary
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Caades Group and Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso (OFUJI), has reaffirmed the importance of strong family values as the foundation of a peaceful and prosperous society, stressing that lasting success is measured not by wealth or political influence but by the positive impact made in the lives of others.
Dr. Anyaso made the remarks while delivering a Special Address titled “The Family: God’s First Institution and Our Greatest Legacy” during the 19th Anniversary Celebration of the Singles and Married International Fellowship, themed “The Rehoboth Experience: 19 Years of God’s Faithfulness,” held at the Rehoboth Auditorium, Umuekwule, Umuopara, Umuahia.
The event brought together ministers of the Gospel, Christian leaders, families, public office holders and distinguished guests to celebrate nearly two decades of the ministry’s commitment to strengthening homes, restoring families and spreading the Gospel of Christ.
In his address, Dr. Anyaso congratulated the President of the Singles and Married International Fellowship, Pastor Dr. Chioma Ibezim, and members of the ministry for nineteen years of unwavering dedication to family restoration and Christian service. He commended the fellowship for consistently investing in family values and godly living, noting that its influence has continued to shape lives across generations. He also prayed that the ministry’s greatest accomplishments still lie ahead.
Speaking on the essence of true success, Dr. Anyaso challenged society’s growing emphasis on material achievements, explaining that genuine fulfillment is found in transforming lives and building families that honour God.
“A man’s greatest achievement is not what he owns, but the lives he transforms. Money can disappear, businesses may rise and fall, political offices come and go, but every life you touch for Christ and every family you help to build becomes an eternal investment,” he said.
The philanthropist explained that this conviction inspired the establishment of the Chima Anyaso Foundation, which has over the years undertaken numerous interventions in education, healthcare, scholarship programmes, youth and women empowerment, humanitarian services, community development, support for widows, entrepreneurship and church projects.
He also highlighted the vision behind the 2020 Couples Group, an initiative he founded alongside his wife to mentor young couples through fellowship, prayer, counselling and mutual support.
According to Dr. Anyaso, the initiative was born out of growing concerns over the challenges confronting many young marriages and the need to create sustainable mentorship structures that would strengthen families from their earliest stages.
He maintained that the strength of any nation is directly linked to the stability of its homes, emphasizing that every thriving society begins with healthy families.
“The family was God’s first institution before government, before business and before politics. If we lose our families, we eventually lose our society. Everything begins at home,” he said.
Speaking on his aspiration to represent Bende Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Dr. Anyaso said public office should be driven by service rather than the pursuit of power, adding that leadership must be anchored on character, integrity and accountability.
He assured the audience that his desire to seek elective office is rooted in a commitment to improve lives, promote justice and restore hope to the people.
“As many of you know, I have offered myself to serve the good people of Bende Federal Constituency. Politics should be about service, improving lives, promoting justice and restoring hope,” he said.
Dr. Anyaso further urged parents to deliberately raise children with faith, integrity, love and sound moral values, describing character as the most enduring inheritance that can be passed from one generation to another.
He concluded his address by praying for God’s continued blessings upon marriages, families and the leadership of the Singles and Married International Fellowship, asking God to expand the ministry’s reach and increase its impact in the years ahead.
The anniversary celebration, themed “From Seven to Nations: Celebrating 19 Years of Divine Faithfulness,” marked the remarkable journey of the ministry from a seven-member fellowship founded in 2007 into an international ministry touching lives, strengthening families and transforming communities across nations.
The colourful celebration featured thanksgiving, worship sessions and powerful ministrations by Gospel artist Chioma Jesus.
